I began my ministry in 1973 and arrived at Zion Lutheran Church and School in 1990. I currently teach 7th grade Religion and Confirmation Classes and lead Wednesday Morning Chapel Services. I have been married to my wife, Linda, since 1969. We have two sons and three grandsons. In addition to serving at Zion, I enjoy playing and coaching softball, playing the piano, and studying Texas History.
I began my 50 years of ministry by serving at Immanuel Lutheran Parish in Waterloo, Illinois from 1973 until 1990. I served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for St. Clement’s Hospital in Illinois; Chairman of Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois; on the Board of Directors for Lutheran Social Services, and as Vice President of the Texas District-LCMS (2000-2012). I currently serve on the Board of Directors for both the Luther Center of North Texas and the Dallas Bach Society. I have led over 25 work trips throughout Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and New Mexico for Lutheran disaster relief agencies.
In all I do I seek to impart the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I continue to pursue learning so that the needs of others may be served. I am always available to answer any questions our families may have about Christianity, Lutheranism, or specifically about Zion Lutheran Church. I want our students to remember that I sought to lovingly hold Christ as Lord and Saviour before them and that He calls them to faith, love, and the service of others.
“A leader is someone who helps improve the lives of other people or the systems they live under.” ― Samuel Houston, Baptized Christian and President of the Republic of Texas
