I am a born and bred Texan who grew up just a few streets from Zion. I attended school at Zion Lutheran School from the 3rd grade through the 7th grade. My husband, Danny, and I were married at Zion and we have four children who all attended Zion Lutheran School from preschool through middle school. After serving the church and school as the Director of the Parent's Day Out program for five years, I took time off to be home with my children. I stayed very involved in the church and school; serving various volunteer positions. During the time away, I trained and taught in the children's ministry of Bible Study Fellowship for eight years. I returned to full time work at Zion in 2005 in the preschool 3 class. Teaching little ones about Jesus and His love for them has always been my passion and I feel extremely blessed to be able to do so for the children at Zion Lutheran School. Apart from teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching sports of all kinds, and traveling.
I have been working in the Early Childhood arena for over 20 years. I have worked with infants through 5-year-old pre-kindergarteners. I have a BA degree in Child Development & Psychology from Concordia University/St. Paul, and I am a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children.
I attend Zion Lutheran Church regularly. I have served on various boards, taught Sunday School, led Bible studies, and I volunteer in the summer VBS program every year.
I have a passion for teaching young children about Jesus and His great love for them. I want each child to develop a love for learning that will continue for years to come through exploration and discovery while building strong social and emotional skills. I hope that every student that leaves my class remembers that Jesus loves them and so do I.
