COVID-19 Safety Information

The health and safety of our students and their families is our top priority during the COVID-19 pandemic. We continually evaluate our usual practices and routines during this pandemic to protect our students.

Options for Families

While being in the classroom is ideal for students, we understand it is not an option for every family. Zion is temporarily offering both in-class and online options for our families during this pandemic.

Campus Learning

Our campus is open to students as we follow elevated safety guidelines. Students in grades K-8 are required to wear face coverings in the classroom. Classroom desks have been spread out to increase the distance between students. Plexiglass barriers have been added in spaces where students are in closer contact.

Online Learning

Zion offers a unique online learning opportunity for those students that are not able to be in the classroom due to health reasons. Our teachers blend video instruction with self-guided activities to instruct our online students.

Campus Safety

Zion Lutheran School is excited to have a full return to our classrooms. We are also continuously evaluating our safety protocols and protocols for the 2021-22 school year. We will communicate any changes to these protocols with our current families and update them below.

classes isolate from other classes (when possible), minimizing the contact with additional students
outdoor spaces have been created to allow for outdoor instruction
Parents and guests are limited to the school office, restricted from student contact
Hand sanitizing stations have been added

DESIGNATED Student pickup and dropoff locations have been added
recess play areas have been designated and schedules staggered
transitions and restroom breaks have been scheduled to prevent hallway crowding
outdoor recess time has been added to allow breaks from masks

Enhanced cleaning practices

classrooms receive a thorough and deep clean every evening
hepa air filters have been installed in all hvac devices
air filtration devices have been added to classrooms
Common surfaces are routinely disinfected throughout the school day
Restrooms are disinfected multiple times each day
